Holy Stupid Ass S2000 Batman!
Yeah that's what I was just reading up on. Most people tell me that they wouldn't upgrade the HID's considering how much light you lose, but then some people are telling me that their lighting got better when they got 8k's and 10k's.
could those people be under the same assumption that you were under (higher K = more output)
and generally yes higher K = less output
Yeah, I like the way my lights look (driving wise), but I really like how the blue HID's look, and I've also heard that HID's are basically all the same brightness when driving just a different color. Having a hard time deciding if I wanna go a higher K or just stickin with the stock ones.
The highest I would go is 6k, its what I have on my bike. It has that light blue look, but still maintains a nice reflection on the road. Anything else (I think) you'll wish you didn't. Most people without projectors just "think" it's brighter because the light is blinding the fark out everyone.
Just look at the Kelvin chart, and go with the temp that produces a blue light but nothing too excessive.
This will explain about the color tempature

If you can get under the car the path you are following is easiest. You only have to drop the subframe (which is actually just an engine cradle) about 4-5 inches and the top two bolts are right there.
Yes the top starter bolt is very long and goes all the way through. Lots of extensions for this bolt and the top 2 transmission bolts make it very easy to remove both.
I don't know if anyone has found an easier way to do it b/c this follows the way Honda says to do it so people followed that and did the DIY write up. Search s2ki.com for any shortcuts.
Exhaust shouldn't get in the way.

without reading the entire thread, i would listen to this guy. not because i have known him since high school, but because he knows....about these wiley cars.
And this is exactly why I have a 36" extension. Because the top two bolts on virtually all RWD transmissions are a pain in the aress to get, unless you have lots of extensions and swivel head sockets.
has absolutely nothing to do with it. I have a 3 foot extension. I used to work at a tranny shop. You can even get to the bolt from the top with a 17mm wrench. but the bolt sits up against the fire wall. You cant do anything with it when You touch it.
Thats why the subframe has to be lowered. Even IF you got the bolts out without taking the subframe down, the bell housing is still going to hit the firewall.
