To the 2 guys in the Supra's and the 1 in the 350Z Roadster I spanked on 264...

Otherwise, the machining of the head would alleviate any other problems incurred. There's nothing else that should have happened, 1 bar, no redline, it just went.
I'll be researching the Supra forums.

^^True...and we will be looking over the head very well and getting all 6 cylinders compression checked in th eprocess. It's not like we're gonna blindly remove the HG and then just put a stronger one on, lots is getting done. Believe me I'm not going to lose this engine to something dumb like that!
PS- You are SURE they used stock HG on that stock BOTTOM END Supra? I figured they must have done extensive head work and at the least replaced the HG on that thing.
PyAri Chick: Auto Solution as always...until someone proves that another shop can do it better.

We used a modified (for larger studs) STOCK head gasket at Titan on the race car.
How's 1143rwhp with 3 people sitting in the rear of the car to TRY to keep the wheels from spinning (didn't work) sound?
The stock head gasket on the MKIV is a metal stopper type. There is no need for an aftermarket head gasket on the MKIV. If you have popped a head gasket, it's from a detonation event, or an excessive amount of timing (which causes detonation) that pushes cylinder pressures through the roof (if no detonation occurs).
Running a good bit of boost on pump gas while utilizing an AFC to control larger injectors is a good way to pop head gaskets, flatten rod bearings, and crack ring lands. This is assuming the car is "tuned" for a proper air-fuel ratio. Getting an air-fuel ratio correct is only HALF the problem. The other half is the timing map.
Good luck.

Noshoes: Dude, I'm begging you to meet up with me and VR-4ever so we can chat. I think you hit the nail on the head, the AFC was totally un-tuned, but it's tuned really rich so I thought the worst happening was power loss. You think I could have had a massive pre-detonation running rich @ 15lbs? Please give me some more info, I'll gobble it up!
Haha..hell yea...well a little...blew my old motor. Just dropped a J-Spec D16y8 in it, cuz I'm too poor to go any bigger. hahaha. But its all good, its quicker....After I do a few more things to it and sell it, I'll have somethin for you to race.
