Cruisin' Virginia Beach Boardwalk Car Show - April 18th.
A friend of mine attended the VPCCC (VA Penisulla Car Club Council) meeting earlier this week and it was announced there. These were his notes from the meeting....
Here is some information for this weekend's "Cruisin the Beach" Boardwalk.
- You must go to the corner of 18th Street and Arctic (parking lot) to register if you have not "pre-registered.
-- You will have received a colored card in the mail to put in your windshield if you pre-registered
-- You must have that card with you otherwise you will be sent back to the registration site
- Registered vehicle makes will be sent down the following streets (show diagram also attached).
-- *Trucks: 8th Street
-- GM: 14th Street
-- MOPAR: 20th Street
-- MSC/Street Rod: 24th Street
-- Import: 27th Street
-- Ford: 33rd Street
* Trucks can either park in the truck section OR park with their make of manufacture (i.e., Dodge trucks park in the MOPAR section). However, they will not compete in the truck class if not parked in the truck area (will compete with the cars).
Show cars will be allowed on the boardwalk starting at 7:30 a.m. However, those individuals who are setting up and assisting with organizing the event can get their cars out there at 6:00 (but must have pre-registered).
Tidewater MOPAR Club is responsible for the MOPAR part of the show; Southeastern Virginia Mustang Club is responsible for the Ford part of the show; Street Dreams Corvette Club is responsible for the GM and truck part of the show; a Volkswagon club was committed to handling the VW/Import part but a representative did not attend tonights meeting, and it is not a club has not stepped up to take on the Street Rod part of the show. It should be noted there are no motorcycles included in this year's boardwalk show.
Registration the day of the show is $30. All registered participants receive a tee-shirt as well as a "goodie bag".
There are 25 trophies per show category (see above) and a $200 check with the "Participants Choice" trophy.
The burnout contest is cancelled.

I went years ago in 2001 I think. It was a pretty cool show.
Where is the usual parking these days for non-show vehicles? Should I just bring a sack of quarters for the meter or are there better options?
