youre a moron. wait until you have a 10 second car... or an 11 second car... maybe even a 12 second car to say 'if you run slicks, thats not a daily driver!' because that is just the most retarded bunch of shit i have ever seen. most people will throw on some draglites w/ slicks/skinnies, go up to the track for a day, come back home and put on their normal wheels. ET streets are street legal, theyre safe in dry weather (which is all id want to drive a 10 second car in...) and are dot approved... but theyre slicks arent they? seriously, just shut up and go away. gutted interior + no ac = not streetable or capable of bein a daily driver? haha god youre a tard.

Daily driven here on the same exact set-up I run at the track. No skinnies or slicks, just 17in radials all the way around. Runs on 93 octane, and still gets 26mpg. Interior is complete, except rear seats are removed and have been for 2 years now, no need for them. Still running the stock drivetrain and suspension. The car sees 200+ miles a week. This is a true street car... and it runs 11's on motor and ????????? on the 150 shot........

Last time I checked "moron", I don't need a 10 sec car to state my opinion. If you don't agree, then to fuken bad.

Default Like I said...

We can post all day long about he or she "knows a guy", but reality is very very few actually drive around daily in race trim because it's a safety issue, too expensive, or both.
I never said it's not capable of being streetable, just hardly anyone does it cause of either safety or cost.

You don't need race gas to be fast, I think that's the point most are trying to get at. I have seen plenty of cars on the street that rock slicks/radials with skinnies up front. Many of which are on this board.

How many kids in old assed CRX's and Civics have completely gutted interiors for "speed".. TONS.

Goto Kmart one day and peak in all the interiors of the older hondas and I guarantee you wont see too many with any sort of interior beyond the driver and passanger seat, and of course the dash.

And AC or power steering; who the hell needs either?

It sounds like you're turning this conversation into a WHO RUNS 9's OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR.

Daily driven is up to the individual. Alot of the guys don't drive their Firebirds everyday, I dont; why? Due to gas mileage. I drive my jeep instead. And no my Firebird doesnt run anywhere near 9s.

I'm sure PLENTY of rich people have no problem driving their beastly assed vipers, Ferraris, etc each and every day on the street.

It's all a matter of how much money you've got, and how much money you're willing to spend, be it gas, maint., or money on tires.

Any proof that we give you, you call an "exception".

This topic is WHO HAS THE ***FASTEST*** Street car.

Not WHO HAS THE ***FASTEST** street car, except those with slicks, 100+ octane, gutted interiors, no AC, no power steering, and no v8s.

Street is up to interpretation; some guy could drive is 9-10second Nova up to Kmart and challenge everyone. The cars on the street, the car can be driven to and from Kmart, it can be driven without slicks, and it can stomp 100% of the cars out there, unless someone else wasn't afraid of bringing their beast out too.

And whats the big deal about driving on slicks/DR's?

Half of the guys with Fbodies run drag radials everyday, alot of the mustang guys also. Does that make them not streetable? I ran against a Transam last week that had 315 radials on the rear, only a few things done under the hood; he beat me, and did I jump out and go; "HEY FUCKER THATS NOT STREET LEGAL IM TELLING THE POE-LEESE"

No.

I agree, but I wasn't trying to turn this into 9's of the showroom.
