Are Honda Motors really made ready to be Boosted?

Maybe the Honda boys can answer this one. Can a Honda engine handle 400whp with out opening the engine? My understanding was that they could not. The open block design hinders them. Of course that is all fixable. I can't think of a good turbo engine that has a open deck design. It's just not done. Now, you can sleeve the block and put a deck plate on and boost away. Just have to add that into your cost at some point in the build process if you go for really big numbers.
i'm with crate on that one. N/A or boosted, a honda motor can't support 400fwhp without opening her up. and the 420a can be boosted, it just takes alot more prep work on the bottom and and block.
mine is just running fine on a very conservative 6 lbs. i dont think i need to go any faster than what i have. i have 238 fwhp. it's just not any fun with a high hp civic hatch on the street. traction is a bitch as it is.
the reason people go with the ls is because it comes with low compression.
i love my stock b16 block. syke. it will go one day..lol
