Import Car Makers Vs. Domestic Car Makers (opinion thread)
Well, if a "sports car" is a car that comes off the assembly line ready to be driven hard each and every day, why is it no one has even mentioned the Koenigsegg? I mean, a car that lets YOU adjust the suspension to your own liking and can ball out better than any other car, then that would be my ideal choice for distinguishing a sports car from anything else.
And why is it that a grocery-getter cant be considered a sports car, if its been totally reworked to be one. Be real with yourself, some of the stuff people are doing to their cars are far better than anything stock on a new sports car (some cases, not all). I DL'ed that 2.0 liter challenge (track race with an s2000, accord SIR, EK9 with a kick ass c5 (i believe) in it), and the ek9 spanked the s2000. So why should a sports car have to be RWD? Though i must say id rather own a RWD than a FWD car, but id also rather have a AWD car as opposed to RWD. Since AWD cars tend to be the 4 cy's that are turbo, would you say they arent sports cars? Because i consider rally racing one of the greatest sports around, its something that is really hard to do, and requires all the best things a car can offer (as far as performance).
And do i think the imports are die'in off, No. Though most people dont like the G35, to me, its a N/A skyline (since it has the same traction system as the R34 and is almost up to its power band. And if you take notice, most of the import companies are putting a lot of power into their SUV's and trucks. That Nissan Titan is a beast!!! So i think its only a matter of time b4 they start releasing some crazy sh*t out on the market.
Thats my long .02

uhm....you're 19. Do you not realize that there is a huge difference between an M3 and an S2000 price wise as well? If I could afford an M3 right now I'd have one. Speaking of M3...It's not a sports car. It's the closest I've seen a factory do as far as changing a regular car into a sports car...but it's not a sports car.
F40 is without a doubt a sports car. M3s and S4s to me are not. especially the S4. Like I said, an M3 is about as close as you're gonna come to making a sports car out of a car that wasn't designed as one. Just don't take it wrong...Lke I said, saying a car isn't a sports car doesn't take anything away from it...It's just not that kind of car. An M3 is a very liveable car. it has a decent trunk, room for 4 maybe 5, a roomy quiet interior, some creature comforts, etc etc. It wasn't purpose built from the ground up to rip up racetracks. I know as well as anybody that an M3 is very very capable of doing just that, but bottom line is, it's a 3 series BMW. And a 3 series BMW is not a purpose built sports car. IMO the M edition Z3 or M coupe is BMWs closest (although IMO failed) attempt at a sports car in recent years. An M3 is without a doubt the hardest one to place though and I place in a class other than sports car by definition only, not by the driving experiance at all. It drives like a sports car.

Age is nothing but a number, and your cocky arrogant attitude obviously doesnt reflect well on yours.
