pssst, you shouldve put in a video camera in car and keep a spare key for your car.. That way, if they plan on keeping it over weeks, you can just go to your car everyday, replace with new film, watch old film ..over and over and over like the paranoid person that you are jk and see what they are doing, if they do anything at all. That wouldve been some good evidence right there.

heh, but if you plan on bringing them to court, hope you have evidence, if any. Did THEY rebuild your engine or did YOU do it yourself. Courts might just say, it was your working or whoever you hired to rebuild that was at fault for a faulty engine and the shop that supposedly "blown your engine" probably have no prior history of your car ever being worked on in the past by them (which would cover their own ass) ..if there was and you have reciepts and history showing, then you could prob win. If not, i dont think you have a chance in hell.

If you install aftermarket performance parts on your eclipse...hahah fucking forget the case dude. That is just another excuse/possibility for your blown engine for the prosecutors to use.

shiet!!! I'm the consumer...I don't know that stuff. I entrusted them to take care of my car and they scuffed it up. Then they tell me theres nothing they could do. Its my words against theirs...in the end it'll cost more for me. Don't need the drama. They just won't get my business ANYMORE!

Stories like this are the reason why I'm going to wire the hell out of my next car. Part of my job is installing and servicing security cameras. It's amazing how small some of the covert cameras are. I've seen them in everything: wall clocks, smoke detectors, functional motion detectors, EXIT signs, functional alarm clocks. You name it, and either you can buy it with a camera integrated in it from the factory, or you can install a tiny one in there yourself. Putting one in the dash, or dome light, or even the rear view mirror mount wouldn't be hard at all. Most of them run off of 12v DC, so power in a car is not an issue.

The cam would be useless without a recording device, and a DVR (digital video recorder) would be ideal for this application. One more thing, NO I don't have a camera setup in my current car. I'd never install any expensive electronic equipment in a convertable.

It's not a bogus lawsuit if this had happened to you, you would be doing the same thing i am doing now.

i agree, if someone messed with my car i'd feel the same way, hope it turns out well for ya
