Very well put Fernando. I don't know what GM's obsession is with FWD V-8s. People get all excited when they here that these cars get V-8s and then when they find out that the cars are FWD, it is immediate turnoff. FWD V-8 ?

 

it's market trends. most automakers are selling more FWD cars than RWD so they figure why bother making RWD at all. additionally, a lot of money is spent on trucks and SUVs because of their popularity, taking away research money for next-gen cars and scrapping some like the camaro.

 

Did you sign the petition a few years back when they were only rumors of the demise of the F-body? I'm on there somwhere...I can't BELIEVE how long that petition was.

 

yes i did. and back when it was just "rumors" i emailed GM outta curiousity.

"i heard they were going to stop the camaro in '03, is that the model year '03 (as in year '02) or the year '03?"

"we have no plans to stop making the camaro or firebird. in fact we are planning special editions of both for the '02 model year."

about 2 months later i found out they were officially cancelling the f-bodies. he didn't lie about the special editions (35th anniversary), but damn if he wasn't talking out of his ass about cancelling. gm tore my heart out

lol, i probably can't find mine either. i'm just happy that i'll be able to get my '07 camaro Z/28. and go race an '05+ mustang, that'd be a sweet race since they should both look kind of retro
