Why not get power, better looks, better sounds, all for the same price. Go catback.

Man, I pulled up to an intersection today. There was a blue Mach sitting on the other side. It was an auto he hauled ass past me (manually shifting) fuck that thing sounded mean.

Oh yeah I say go with Borla. I was at MAS chillin with judge the other day there's a Yellow Mach, 18inch black FR500's Headers, X pipe and Borla exhaust.

That thing was the sickest sounded Mustang I've ever heard in my life.

Obviously the cobra can rev higher and breathes better at a higher RPM so way up top it will sound different. But if you can tell a difference at 2k-5k from a 2V/4V then props to you.
I agree 5.0's sound completely diff than a modular.

Cat-backs don't do shit for performance anyways and I like the look of the stock tips. If performance was my main concern at the moment, I would be talking LTs, and x-pipe, of course with you paying But I'm not, right now I'm more concerned with just getting a nice sound. A cat-back won't gain me shit if my exhaust still has to flow through the very restrictive manifold and converters. Yes, some SLP LT's and x-pipe are in the plans eventually, but at this moment, I can only afford about $400 for exhaust, not $1500.

so you'd rather buy a cat-back later instead of now? if you're going to upgrade your headers and x-pipe, you'll want to upgrade everything after that as well. might as well get a cat-back now. i'm not sure about the 4.6's, but installing a cat-back (going from 2.75" to 3" tubes) does add power even through stock manifolds on an LSJuan.

I'm sure it adds power, but your talking a pretty small amount. I'm leaning towards not buying a cat back, just the LTs, and x-pipe and then just using a high flow muffler in the end. Thats my goal, but thats a lot of money and time down the road yet.

sure it's only 2-3 hp, but then you get LTs, x-pipe, and muffler and you're still running a smaller pipe size. but then you're just looking for sound, right? i wanted sound and performance, so i opted for a magnaflow catback instead of just a muffler. when i get my LTs and y-pipe, the bigger pipe size should make a difference.
