That would be pretty nuts

I believe I saw a 3SGTE swap into a newer celica once. However, massive amounts of fabrication was required. And I'm not even sure it was AWD. However, I read about it a long time ago, so don't chew me out if I'm wrong :P

From what I understand, it is only practical to swap 3SGTEs into the previous generation celica. And even then, you can't use the motor/trans. from an MR2.

A Miata is for someone looking for a fun to drive weekend car. Saying a car is "made" for a certain race, age, or gender is ignorant and stupid.

Would you rather have a 347ci stroked, supercharged v8 Miata...one that can come very close to, if not surpass, a Z06 in all aspects of performance? Or would you rather have an awd 3SGTE swapped celica?
id much rather have an awd 3sgte swapped celica...have fun trying to keep a miata with a 347ci stroked motor keep traction..that car isnt heavy enough for that motor and IMO alls i see is old white haired men that drive miatas..they are slow unless u swap it and they are to small..i dont like them

Flared fenders and wide tires work wonders for traction.

they are slow unless u swap it
Turbo or supercharge it and it's still one quick ass car.

and they are to small..i dont like them
And what's wrong with a small car?

if we are both thinking of the same car, it was a silver 2001 celica, the owner swaped a 3sgte motor from the all trac celica and used the mr2 tranny. he is running a t67 greddy turbo. he claims 700hp but no one has seen any dyno prof so that dosnt mean anything to me. he ownes the shop that did the work, its in FL i think.

another 2000 up celica that was swaped to a 3sgte was the rod millen one, and it is awd as well!!!! it was yellow in color. but i dont even want to get in to how much that thing cost to put together

but you are right, you need a lot of money to get this project done! i mean alot!!!!

I think it was that silver one. Must've been FWD if it was using the MR2 tranny.

The Rod Millen one sounds badass...but most likely cost a fortune. A lot of custom driveline pieces I'm sure, not to mention all the issues that needed to be addressed for swapping the 3sgte.

yes the silver one is fwd, im 100% sure.

hey i see you have Flyin' Miata exhaust system, the shop i belong to turboed a 2000 miata using all Flyin miata parts, including the turbo kit. i had the chance to drive it, (with the top down may i add ) the car felt really nice. everything on the car was upgraded, from the brakes and rims/tires to the internals of the motor and drive-train.
