id like to see some domestic boys talk shyt bout honda now. that thing is monsterous.
it's not a procuction engine is it? if they produced that engine and slapped on a 100,000 mile warrenty on it then i will be slightly more impressed. There are tons of engine builders that can put together and engine with 500HP i would hope that a bunch of asian engineers with honda backing could do the same. It's an impressive engine sure but being a domestic owner i'm not about to bow down to it.
You will never see that car on the road, period. I don't really think of it as a honda engine as well, it was developed for a race car (which is the main reason I said you will never see that car on the roads.) Those engines require frequent rebuilds, INSANE amounts of fuel, and are very rough. I think this is just one of those concepts you see every now and then where the designers were like "hmmm I wonder what would happen if we took...." and went to town. It's cool, but every company has their own little 600hp ALMS engine and a factory car they COULD put it in.
Exactly, you are all looking at the new Honda F1 engine for the 2006 season. Its a V8(F1 is going to V8s from V10s). I doubt you will see this on the street and if you do....that motherfucker has mad money. The FIA has put a new V8 engine impostion so that all teams must go to a V8 engine by the start of that season. Honda is in F1 so you are looking at a prototype pretty much of the engine they will be using. It will probably get about 900hp in the F1 car....and torque isnt important in those little fuckers.
EDIT: I just read that BMW will be using the V8 block from the new M5 for their team...500cid...500hp

Debuting in the 2002 ALMS (American Le Mans Series), this 4 liter V8 engine has seen action every year since then. In 2004, it was used in the JGTC Series by the VEMAC RD408R GT500 class racing machine.
It'll never be an F1 engine.
And it'll never be a production engine. It'll NEVER go 100,000 miles.
