I didn't say I my work was perfect.. And I didn't say there Aren't techs out there way better than me... I simply stated that I was the best tech the big al's company (not franchise stores) has to offer... I don't know shit about the franchise stores... I didn't know shit about independence until some one told me we were buyin it...
I've said it once and I"ll say it again... I should've said it a different way... But I"m not going to go back and change what I said... I said it that way to hint to yall that if you want some good work come to me... I'll always stand by my work I don't care what any one says...

Oh yeah and as far as mani's and header's... Main issue right now is pricing of metal... What I'm spendin right now is out of my one pocket... And I don't have all the "correct tools" for doin certain things... But I'm workin on 2 different custom manifolds for personal use... And I've made headers already... I'm also workin on some swap mounts.. But thats nothin yall would be interested in.. All these things though I have to do between jobs... cuase I definately don't have many tools of these sorts at home...

that's cool, you may even be good at what you do, but to advertise yourself as the best imo only attracts negative attention.

if you're that good have someone else speak for you, that'll gain you at least a little credibility.

I'm also a Big Al's Employee and their best exhaust tech outta all the stores... And I have a few disputes with what you've said...
First I am not supporting the management at all... The higher ups anywayz... Bobby is a great exhaust tech, and manager... (Plus he drives a racecar and has engine work hook ups for me...)... But the management has a set way to run their shit...

First and foremost.. Your store was sold to corporate becuase they were runnin business fucked up and there were way to many complaints... I've had to personally fix many fuck ups from that store... And the store was makin 25% of what it was supposed to be... 25% thats ridiculous... Especially for yall's location... You should be rakin in the money...

As far as pricing goes I do not support rippin people off even a little bit... Matter of fact.. Bobby is now the perm. manager at my store, on little creek... Thats because not only was the previous manager ripping customers of severely... He stole tthousands of dollars from the company... So when I had solid proof.. I pulled the flag on his ass and he's no longet there... Some of the managers pricin is fucked up... Like Wayne's, John D., Reggy and a couple others... I just recommend to stay away from them stores...

As far as the checklist goes... Why you bitchin?... That covers your ass... If there is anything else wrong it's recorded... So that way when the customer leaves after gettin there brakes fixed, and comes back the next day complaining of noise... and it's because of a wheel bearing, and you forgot to tell them, the customer says "it's your fault its messed up" or "it wasn't doin that before"... But with the paper.. It's wrote down that they need brakes, they have a bad wheel bearing, need a cv axle and the front struts are goin out... But all they can afford is brakes, as long as they know about the other stuff.... Or when a car comes in with a scrap/dent... And you don't mark it on the page, then the customer decides to be a dick and says you put it there.. How you gonna defend that... that is why there is the check sheet...

I have many complaints about big al's... But for the most part... We have the Best prices around... And we're better than alot of shops out there..
THE BEST EXHAUST TECH?! are you FUCKING KIDDING ME?! you are sadly mistaken. Nobody drives several states to get their exhaust work done by you...Brian has people bring custom classic cars, race cars, and anything else to get done by him because he is THE FUCKING BEST. Roll up to the jenro's classic car show and ask them who does the best exhaust in virginia. 99% of people there would say Brian up at big als...why? because he did all of theirs: PERFECTLY. Jimmy the owner of direct performance used to send all his personal cars for brian to do, along with all of his customers... i dont recall hearing anything about performance shops sending jobs to get done by you specfically. Don't bring that "I'm the best" shit in here. most people in drag757 could tell you different.

If you say bobby is a good exhaust tech/manager then you are seriously mistaken. He did some duals on a truck that should be considered a sin. Both tail pipes were pointing in assbackwards directions. He is the biggest hypocrite I've ever known. We were slow one day, all the bays were clean, and whats he do? Takes a video of us sitting down on his video/camera phone to show/tattle to one of the higher ups. Hmmm that sure is odd comming from a guy who brings parts of his racecar to the shop, works on them while hes supposed to be in the office and then hides them when another manager shows up. Oh yeah what about the time he left early from our store, told us he was going to another store then just went home, and never told steve or wayne. OOPSIE! i bet he never told you about that one. Or what about the time we needed help cause we were slammed and he sat down and talked on his cell phone to some of his buddies? Well we got that all on video to show steve. Bobby a good manager? FUCK NO. Bobby a good exhaust tech? FUCK NO.

The check list is a crock of shit, not once has it gotten us out of trouble... Why because we thoroughly check everything anyways...theres no need to write it down if you tell a manager who not only informs the customer, but notates the problem on the receipt/ticket. I do agree however, that the only time the checklist can save your ass is with the damage to a car before it comes in... The system we used before corporate worked like clockwork, there was really no need to change it.

The efficiency of the corporate system is absolutely horrible. I'd love to know where you got these magic figures about our store being down. Woody, was known for his good business... infact the wall in his office could prove that. He had photocopies of checks for millions of dollars that were from previous business deals...He knew his shit.

We can agree on some things, Wayne is a complete asshole. When I leave for school I'll probably tell him how much of a dick he is. He shows up bitches and then leaves...he has no real job, except a corporate puppet. He charges the maximum always with no remorse.

i agree with brad on that one. Brian is the best exhaust tech i have ever delt with. very nice guys and knows his shit. he did turbo back 3in exhaust on my civic, did exhaust on my crx and on my integra, welded a nice bung in my oil pan for my turbo setup on my civic. also brian has done exhaust for about 10 other friends of mine and never had any compliants.. so just because you might have done a decent job on 1 or 2 exhaust systems doesnt make you big al's god. sorry

Your right no one drives from fuckin hampton just to get done by me... I didn't say I was the best in VA... Reread the post... I"m not tryin to be a dick... Once again I'll say I've been told by the hire ups and pretty much everyone else who has worked with me that I'm pretty much the best they got...

I will back up the statement that Bobby is on his cellphone alot... But I won't back up alot of the other shit you said.. Unless its the way yall act towards him... Which I could see that because your sour about the switch which is understandable...
Shit I'm workin on my car anytime i'm not touchin a customer car... Ain't nothin wrong with that...

And dude for real.. You got it made.. you pull in a car load it up (5-15 min depending on test drive)... Check it out (5-15mins depending on the problem)... Wait for parts look up and approval (5-30min depending on manager)... Wait for parts (if necessary, 30min-3hr maybe longer, warehouse sucks..) Do the work (15-1hr depending on tech)... So right there could be up to 4 hrs... the customers not payin by the hour... Sorry you gotta wait buddy... But hey I"m still gettin paid... I mean thats not a great way to look at it... I beleive in quick, quality work.. But I don't run things I just work there... Something definately needs done about parts thought I agree...

Yea fuck wayne... Watch if he's at your store and something goes wrong (ie. a slider breaks...) he'll just disappear into the yellow truck and away...

Have you met Ron yet?

I wrote the original post when i was extremely bitter about the switch over. Ive calmed down abit...

Waiting for parts can be nice sometimes but I'm used to GO GO GO with the previous owner...I'm just not accustomed to how slow stuff moves with corporate. I work on my car occasionally, but what i was getting at is that Bobby was such a dick about getting work done, but he loafed as much as anybody else....thats all. LOL we all hate him so much at my store that we all told steve that if Bobby shows up to our store one more time we're all locking our tool boxes and rolling out.

Wayne cracks me up. The first day he came over and introduced himself, one of our guys asked him what he actually does for the company. Wayne just went "ummm I, uhhhh, I ummm I manage" we're like ohhhhhhhhh kay. He can never stop somewhere without bitching about something. Today we had no cars, the bays were all spotless and he rolls in, cant find ANYTHING to yell about. I sit right in front of him and read a magazine (on purpose...I love pissing him off.) and he walks around, stares at all of us for 10 min, then as he's walking to his truck to leave, he goes "uhh brian, tell somebody to sweep this dirt up in the parking lot" We couldnt help but laugh, because all he does is show up to bitch.
