and i have the cummins,6.0 and the 7.3 only one has issue is the 6.0....but its the most powerfull of the bunch...

Honestly, Im not super worried about power. The heaviest thing I may have to tow would be a 24' Albermarle. Im sure in their stock form, the Cummins or 7.3l wouldnt have a problem doing that.
Im also looking for advice for suspension as well. I know Fords have the solid front, while Chevy has IFS, and IFS isnt terribly good for lifting and bigger tires. What about Dodges?

Dodge has solid front axles and coil springs. The older Fords have solid axle and leaf springs, newer fords are on coil springs...I'm not sure what year the switch was made..around '05 '06.

i have this truck...runs and drives nice to be lifted and 36s
my f250 had 8 inches on 39s and rode like a brick...everyone says the rams ride the best...
