I was talking to some people on fullthrottleforums.com (which is mostly Bristol and the surrounding area) and they said they are rationing gas. Some stations are out and don't know when they will get more.

My girlfriend is going to TN this weekend.. I'll have to make sure she's aware of the fact that she needs to keep a full tank in case she encounters and area that's out of gas and with a low tank.. don't want her stranded 10 hours away

What the fuck are we going to do? I don't have a problem staying at home but it's not possible to utilize public transportation from where I work to where I live, nor is it possible to walk or ride a bike or anything. Way too far. So this is potentially a lot more serious than just higher prices after all???

Ride your motorcycle. What does it take? 5 gallons to fill it up? And 40-50 mpg?

But, everything I've read says gas prices will still to up another 40-50¢, but won't stay there. By the end of the year, they expect it to be back to close to pre-Katrina prices.

Yes, it sucks until then, though. This is one of the times I'm glad I'm not driving a V8.

Takes $7-9 to fill up on 93 octane..

I don't keep the bike at my house; It's garaged, and hopefully will be sold by next week

My question about "what are we going to do now" was more or less directed to what happens if we DO have a gas shortage and have no way of getting gasoline.. so the bike would still be out of the question even if I were keeping it, ya know?

Damn. You just got it and you're selling it already?

How far do you live from your job?

That's not too bad. I live about the same distance from my job, and I ride my bike whenever I can. It sucked at first until my legs got into shape (I'm still not in great shape) but after a week or so it wasn't bad...

I would love to be able to do that if I could.... Out of curiousity, do you live in a lower traffic area? I'm not sure if I want to come into the office dripping sweat and smellin' awful trying to get into shape. I'm about to start going back to the gym so I can get in shape. I don't want to ride down 419/Electric Rd in traffic

I guess that's just an excuse though.... if it comes down to it, I guess I'll have to start trying things like that. Gotta do what you've gotta do!
