One of them that rarely hits the track actually ran IIRC a 5.9 on his GSX-R 1000.. Granted, that's a 1/8th mile track, but that's fucking fast! He runs with me through the mountains and curvy roads, so either his riding ability extremely overcompensates the stretched swingarm, or it doesn't completely kill his handling.
I would have to see these *curvy* roads you speak of; everyone has different opinions about what types of turns test your ability to ride........

Exactly!!

Load the bike up and head down to the Roanoke area and we'll all go for a ride. Or maybe we can meet at the gap next summer?

You're on..................but you better be able to ride and if we don't hit the gap these *other* roads you're talking about better be worth it..............

I can ride. I'm not arguing that I'm a better rider by any means, but I'm a good rider.

The routes around here aren't the gap by any means but there are LOTS of nice roads with loads of beautiful scenery, twists and turns... Typical country/mountain roads with very little traffic. Nothing better than getting out with a few friends and hitting the road for a day of riding, you know? I'd like to get onto a track soon!

Hey, I'm iin blacksburg and might be interested in cruising around with you and anyone else in the springtime, I should be getting a gsxr-600 sometime soon. I have ridden motorcross bikes since I was 7, and have ridden my brother's bike a decent amount, so I am a competant rider in my opinion. Quick question though: does lowering a bike negatively affect it's handling through the twisties very much?

Yeah, gee, sorry I clearly said I have not been riding streetbikes very long, and said I am a competant rider due to me riding dirtbikes and the like since i was 7, so don't roll your eyes at a legitimate question. Thanks. A simple yes or no was all I wanted, not an attitude. I have never ridden a lowered bike, so it was just a question.

I'll roll my eyes at any freakin' thing I want to!

.................I've been riding dirtbikes since I was 7 and I'm 16 now so I'm a competant street rider so I'm gonna get a gixxer 600 as my first street bike.

people aren't born with all knowlege already stored in their brain, you learn by asking questions and experiences, just because he doesn't know something because he's never asked or never had that experience doesn't mean he's incompetant, you can be a competant rider and not know everything there is to know

he didn't say what year gsxr 600 anyways that i saw, a SRAD wouldn't be a horrible first bike choice, a 2006 gsxr 600 is another thing but even then unless he asks or is told, how is he to know any better?
