Interesting, so in realisty, things aren't all THAT different in terms of times. Generally though people over here seem to be running slightly slower times in general, but, Drag Racing over there is much much larger (We don't have any "official" competitions that run modified street cars up the strip, only silly little day things where you get a bottle of beer and a $1 torque wrench

yeah FWD Honda is not the route to take if you have any interest in comfort or speed.. f-body is for the dragstrip, european is for the highway and the road track, honda is for the gas station. however, we don't all have 40k to buy a porsche and the german cars tend to be maxed out from the factory (read: mod-unfriendly). The whole point of a car hobby is to mod a car so naturally you don't want to pick one that is unmoddable.
You can make any car fast if you strip it down, slap on a turbo, and run slicks. The real test is if you can consistently make the power and retain street car characteristics. I laugh at people who remove their airbags to save 5lbs. Go on a diet and you might survive rear-ending an SUV when you lock up your ABS-removed brakes.
To the UK guy: people over here are generally very incompetent, inattentive drivers and there are many accidents, many laws, and a law enforcement system that is very hostile to speeders and tuners. 1/4 mile dragstrips don't really take any driver skill (except maybe for bracket racing), so it appeals to the masses. It's also a lot cheaper. I drag race because I don't have the bollocks or bank for 100mph road track racing.

In the UK, drag racing isn't a big thing at all. Most people frown upon cars that are road legal (not sure how your road legal/non legal stuff goes over there) yet when the come to a 1/4 mile they use slicks or cut slicks.... Most people prefer to have more of a "track orientated" car (i.e race track). Its only the days where you can just run your car up the strip that people go to, there isn't any official competitions.
It seems to get a 1/4 mile time, you should be running road legal tyres, on a road legal car.
If you want a fast 1/4 mile car, then you may as well do it properly, non road legal, slicks, properly setup suspension etc..... (mind you, many people still think Nitrous is cheating here as its not constent power (as in when the bottle runs out, you can't use it) but some others do use it and swear by it).
So, I was wondering... What kind of times do you lot seem to get running a fully legal and normal tyre'd cars over there. What engine are you running (just the engine CC, NA or Turbo'd (or SC'd etc)). What is considered a "respectable" time.....
Over here, 14's is ok, 13's is the time to aim for, and 12's is considered very quick (on specs above).....
Just wondered really.......

What I personally consider "respectable" is any high 11 or low 12 second cars that trap over 120 mph in full street trim. But this is purely subjective and you'll find varying opinions on this.

I agree with Divxx my personal definition of fast is a 120+mph car w/ the ETs to back it up. 13.5 @ 120 IS NOT FAST. 11.6 @ 121 IS.
My bolt-on SRT-4s best ET was a 12.78 @ a shitty 108 mph. Best trap was 110 mph. Never got a clean run after I finished modding her.
FWD 2.4L turbo w/ the usual intake and exhaust. Also had an adjustable fpr, boost controller and S-AFC II. Running on street legal BFG drag radials.

What kind of 60ft times do most of you FWD's pull? My first time out I pulled some 2.0's but couldnt get lower since i was having trans issues. Hope to make it to a track again now that its sorted out.
