engine builders....
[QUOTE=Jarrod;3694646]...tune/basemap...QUOTE]
Probably the #1 killer for most even if the engine is built properly. Dave really couldn't have said it any better, as well as HondaRules.
If at the very least a dial indicator, micrometer (atleast 3 of them), etc. at a -minimum- are not on your bench, building an engine yourself shouldn't be an option. My opinion though and apparently that of others that have built a quantity of engines worth while of referring themselves to builders/machinests.
Enjoy, flame suit on. I won't even go to the subject of lost revenue as Dave briefly mentioned, as if its not bad enough the internet exists to contend with local shop owners, internet stores selling for less than MAP, yeah.. I'll end this rant now before I really say how I feel.

And for some of you who want some interesting thoughts: What is better, a port, properly sized for a 31mm valve, that flows a peak of 270 CFM, at .400 lift, or a port, properly sized for a 33mm valve, that flows a peak of 270 CFM at .400 lift, given that the flow #'s are even?

It's OK Verbal, I will still let you be the man. You have been on my ass since my second post and for some reason, want to stay after it. I don't know maybe your gay and like other guys asses. Maybe your just a little boy trying to make a point that you are the man. Either way I stand behind my advice to the OP and wish him to pursue your help!... Or maybe your another dick rider from another shop who wants to have any issue with anything pertaining to the name Brauning! Trust me all all weren't created equal!!!

None of the above actually. I just found your post to be excessively arrogant. I also was a little thrown off when you said, I am Dave Brauning but i am not affiliated with Brauning motorsports, when i knew i had read somewhere you were....since i hadn't remember see any where that you weren't any longer, i went with the obvious info in front of me. As most people would...
I am not here to contest your abilities, or to favor any shop, as i am affiliated with no shops and would only recommend performance machine.
I understood your point in the beginning, it just seemed irrelevant to the OP's question. Had he asked, will someone show me how to build a stroker block with 13.5:1 compression and clay the head for clearances, then explain why 31mm may be better than 33m with 270cfm and a .400 lift (given the overall intended use for the engine at hand), i would have laughed along side you. I will also admit, i missed your advice at the end of your first post, and for that i do apologize. I thought the entire post was "I am the shit, you aren't worth my time so fuck off" type attitude, i didn't realize you had said something useful.
I guess i saw the OP as someone who was confused (had the tools, stuff from the machine shop, enough since to double check their work), trying to put rods/bearings back in a stock block and wanted someone to show him what he didn't understand. If i was off than i was in the wrong.
If the OP had asked about a DSM motor, i would have replied differently altogether.
Oh and for the record, i would never claim to be on the level of any NASCAR/ Top Fuel type team, otherwise i wouldn't still be working for COX communications and building motors as a hobby. I will say i have more knowledge than the average village idiot.
