Ok guys. Here's the deal. The Sony XBR4 is actually last year's flagship Sony model. It came out in June of 07. This year they are coming out with the XBR 6, 7, and 8. The Samsung a850 is actually a brand new TV, but has the same panel as the a650, which the a750 which was this year's flagship LCD line, also known as the touch of color series. The new 850 and 950 just came out and still has the same specs as the 650 in relation to contrast ratio. I'm pretty sure the 850 and 950 also have the LED backlight engine if my memory serves me correctly. The new XBR 7 and XBR 8 are going to have a LED backlight engine that is going to enhance the black levels in the TV line, and IMO will have a much better engine than the Samsungs. The 40xbr4 is still a good TV, but If it was me I'd wait for the new XBR line. The 850 is really cool in relation to the 6 series and 7 series because they are super thin, about 3 inches thin.

I think that this guy is just some idiotic Circuit City employee trying to make a few dollars off of his employee discount, because Best Buy doesn't offer 3 year service plans. Although I'm not sure what Circuit City offers, that's probably the only competitor around here that can get low employee pricing like that.

If anyone has any other questions about the TV's themselves feel free to ask me. I wouldn't buy these though, because I wouldn't want to get into trouble with the law. Thats just my humble opinion.

 

This guy sounds retarded on the phone. When I asked him about the model number for the Samsung he couldn't tell me at first and then I rephrased my question and asked him if it was 650 or 750 and all he could say was "yeah." What kind of answer is "yeah" to a question with options. Now he is posting saying they are 850. Was it that hard for you to tell me over the phone the model number when they are clearly written on the box that is sitting in front of you. If you weren't so retarded I would have paid $1700 for the 850. Oh, with a receipt of course.

I know they do. I sold tires to a chesapeak cop. and the police love to read these board for "hey wanna meet up and race" threads so they can bust them.
And i would like to think the owner of this board has eliminated the race threads due to the 564 bust.

this guy selling tv's sure does sound like an idiot. i don't deal with ignorance. it just causes more problems than it's worth. this guy seems like alot problems....

 

i'm checking our store inventory to see if any of those TVs are missing today. I hope they are so I can play the cops theme song as we roll up to his place with NNPD.

 

BTW the 650 series Samsung is nice... I just brought home a demo for myself the other night.
