Silicone works great, lasts forever, love it. Easy and cheap. There isn't anything wrong with flexible hoses for a BOV, and airflow is much more affected by internal area than by internal surface finish. Besides, in this application the duration of the flow is so short that you can't even remotely worry about the same things that affect steady state flow, like boundary layer problems, etc. Hard pipes look more finished and professional, but that's pretty much it.

Why would flexible hoses matter? Is someone going to jump in and argue that the internal volume change of a short, small diameter piece of tubing is going to somehow affect turbo system performance? I could probably show that every silicone coupler in the main piping system has more compliance than that one piece of tubing, and then there's the argument of why none of that actually affects performance...

no, sorry i didnt type all that i was thinking....soft pipe is crap for the pipings, and hard pipe is better for charge pipes, i prefer ALL hard pipes, though the one for the BOV doesnt really matter....the way i worded it...yes, i was wrong...sorry

i've always been a fan of pull design BOVs like the HKS SSQV, and the Synapse replicated one... as i stare at it's ad as i type this right now.

If your into the whistle sound, the HKS one comes with different inserts so you can change the sound of the air coming out.
