Shoe Creek / Big Levels Run

Re: Shoe Creek / Big Levels Run
It is the forest. The trails are roads through the mountains. They were built by the civillian corps, in the 1930s. Some are maintained State and Federal Routes. The actual trails have a Federal Route designation, but are generally not maintained, except for erosion control. The only authority are the park rangers. You almost never see them, unless you camp at Crabtree Meadows.
Shoe Creek is a good trail because the beginning of the trail is Crabtreee Meadows. There is a parking lot and a latrine. Crabtree Falls is about a 1/2-mile walk. It is a realitively popular area.

I ran it a few times when my Xterra was stock.. didn't have any problems for never wheeling before lol
Do you guys usually go up the mountain or down? i've always started at the bottom and gone up to the parking lot

We ran from top to bottom, then went most the way back up and the down again.
