That does not make me happy.
thats disappointing...the power steering method actually works pretty well for the torque steer until you start making a decent power...vw does the same thing but being over 300whp still gives me torque steer

if they are doing the artificial lsd that annoying

I sat in a titanium version of this car yesterday at the dealership. Not bad at all. We are going to order the ST to replace the Mazda3 (daughter gets it soon) and then the Focus will end up being my son's car.

If we were dealing in matchbox cars........then you would be correct.

Personal preference. I owned a Cobalt SS (the turbo version) and while it handled well the torque steer was very annoying and I never "got used to it" and my car had the LSD. I traded it in on a 2011 Mustang and my daily driver is now a miata. I am pretty sure I will never own a front wheel drive car as my daily driver or garage queen ever again.

My point is that they effectively eliminated torque steer with a real solution, but aren't offering it here. Ford and Renault (who both have similar solutions) have moved the game forward for front wheel drive cars, and now Ford is reverting again. I don't want to deal with torque steer on that car because they've already eliminated it on that car.

Yeah I get your point. They should have definitely offered it. As cheap as the car is, I'm sure people would have paid extra for a real solution.

First review is out

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/06/25/2...-drive-review/

Seems like it relied too much on electronic tricks rather than mechanical prowess to overcome the limits of FWD for my tastes, but all in all a great competitor in the segment.

I'm hugely impressed with the new cars ford is pumping out. i know its not the ST but i bought and focus S and it feels nice in the drivers seat. Almost VW-esq. soft touch interior. The gear box shifts nice, a very solid, precies shifting from gear to gear. But what is my opinion worth, i havent driven to many vehicles. My favorite car was my 2006 GTI
