Look man, the reality is any deal involving Hondas, shoddy spelling and non-cash transactions without written statements (i.e. exchanging any combination of parts, pittbull puppies, Hurley flat bills, illegal substances, EBT credit, etc., etc.) is simply going to go wrong.

One of my customers just told me about this thread- tho I "have no dog in this fight " - I thought I might offer a little insight . from what I can tell from this post - 1ST, you made a deal with a phil- not ADRENALINE- you shouldn't be posting in "vendor reviews" - 2nd, if once trans was exchanged and you had problem - he paid a tech to remove it ,paid to have it taken apart and checked out to resolve any issues and re installed ( good luck with that with anyone else you "trade parts with" ) - 3rd you where saying they shouldn't have driven it? hard to tell if something is working without driving - 4th aftermarket Honda distributors have always been prone to problems / I have replaced more than I can remember. and last but certainly not least you could have other issues causing problems , clutch , hydraulics , driving style etc.etc..
I saw this trans in question myself and other than what was mention - detent ball stuck in retaining bolt for a "used trans" it looked ok
I have purchased many transmissions that wouldn't shift at high rpm - even a BRAND NEW from Honda -due to another problem and you didn't see any Honda bashing post from me - I truly hope you get this issue resolved but posting about a shop being crooks when he has tried to help isn't the correct way to go about it .

Ofcourse you would defend the shop being that he put your name out there saying you fixed this trans when it was never fixed

If this guy drives like he spells; there is your explanation for it not shifting right.

Spoiler

Flaming a whole shop for a personal deal is not the way to go. Especially flaming the tuners, etc; when in the same texts you were asking Phil to tweak the tune. If he was such a bad tuner, why would you try to pay $200 for a hook-up? Phil has tuned 12-13 cars of mine, and never once did I have any major issues. They were always safe, reliable, and got great MPG.

It is a high hp turbo car, shit happens. I broke tons of cars, never once did I try and go back to blame the techs or builders because of a part failing. You went from a GSR to a LS, it has different gear ratios, etc. It is not hard to grind a gear, jam a gear, and damage something when you are first driving the car. Don't try to lie and say you didn't wind it thru a few gears because you were far from home. It is a high hp turbo car, you were gonna test it. Something broke, man up and deal with it.
