Nobody is really concerned with the age of the build its the fact that you don't have $25k to build this car, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into, and finally don't kid is about the classifieds we can see them there is nothing in the realm of this build posted.

If anyone is stuck on stupid it's the guy planning a 10 year build on automotive techs salary. And before you go running off about out builds maybe you should know what they are...

Auto techs can clear 6 figures a year FYI, I've seen it countless times.

That being said, this thread was taking shape into the first useful tech thread this site has seen in the last 3 years.

Just to play devils advocate, my buddy is a Tech, for Honda. He owns his own house, a few cars and a Honda that runs 8.7's in a 1/4 (not that impressive I know). Not to mention the the cars he's build in the past, his 800hp S2k that was street driven comes to mind....

For the record, half the shit you post on here.... It amuses me, it really does. You're not a MOD, yet you try to present yourself as one (see your post about the classifieds for a reference). You've been on here what, a year? Yet you try and bash n00bs, while you yourself are one. So press on little buddy, you're always good for a laugh.

Show me a tech who makes $100k

Not saying it's not possible to be successful and comfortable as a tech but I don't know one who makes $100k as one.
Budgeting goes a long way, with a good solid financial mindset you can do quite a lot.

Not all of his questions are retarded but like I said I feel he's overestimating his abilities.

I didn't say I was a mod and never have. It's probably a good thing for drags sake I'm not.
We've covered the topic of my presence here many times over. I did what most of us recommend to noobs. I lurked and got to know how shit runs and where I fall into it all. I'm not here to appease everyone or be BFFs with EVERY member.

Neg and move along.

Thank you, some of these guys are acting like they came out of the womb knowing how build cars and never had to ask questions or get help and ideas/feedback from anyone before. Don't kid yourself, I'm not, I know I'm a "noob" to this, never said I wasn't.

Hey, you're right, I don't just have the money to drop everything into it right now. Hence the time factor? Im not buying and doing all this over a weekend? Why would me not having 25k at the moment have anything g to do with it. I'm hungry for information and you know the best way to get it? Read and ask. And see how people feel about what you have read. And no I'm not underestimating anything. I just have the drive and determination to set a goal and not give up like a pansy. This is something i really have my mind set on.

Why I still have the car even though it hasn't seen or touched the street in over a year and a half. I fell in love with the car, I'm keeping it.

Basically what I'm really trying to say here is, you're not fooling anyone it will be an unfinished project forever and you're not getting into the classifieds with this facade.
That's where the age of the car came into play.

Age I don't get correct. I'll never understand why anyone not just you, puts that much money time or effort into a run of the mill car. I don't get that part. The age reference was more or so saying you could buy a 93' targa top 6 speed for that.

To be brutally honest I don't get why help desk is even a thing. 99% of the threads could be solved with Google.

My biggest point was consider what you're doing. For 75% of people or better on this site is unrealistic. If you achieve it and it's well done I'll be the first to tell you it's awesome. Everyone (but Honda kids) knows you'll nrver get what you put in a car out of it, that just seems like a huge loss to take (potentially). Who knows maybe it's just the part of me that's over cars in general.
It wasn't said with a hateful intention more so to expose you to possible scenarios you hadn't considered.

My best and most sincere advice is research other similar builds see what problems they encountered. Most of all you have to decide what your ultimate use for the car will be. Look up Wide Open Throttle Motorsports they are doing some crazy shit with 2Js And When you start making progress make a build thread so we can see how it goes together.
