The news channels love the ratings. I think the producers get off on causing public chaos. Or atleast creating it so they can have a few more stories for the 10 O'clock news. Anyone who thought this was going to be anything serious is a moron. The areas that flooded always flood when there is any kind of good rain storm. The only thing I would have been concerned with were tornado's.

 

nice try to make people feel like idiots. For the last year i've been in my house i never had the amount of water i had from this storm. The stories i heard from last years hurricane were bad enough for me to worry about in my area of deep creek. so fuck off for us worrying about our homes even with flood insurance.

 

Maybe you were the 5 % of va that was affected. My whole point was they made it sound like everyone should be WATCHING THEIR CHANNEL to keep up with somthing that was no worse than a rainstorm. If they would have said somthing to the affect that it was not going to be anything serious, to just watch out for some flooding and possable tornado's in iscolated areas. But no, they play it up to keep you watching. I mean who really watches the weather channel unless somthing serious is going to happen lol.

 

That storm wasn't shit, a little rain for a day and no wind at all here.

 

 

There was a lot of hype because this hurricane started out as a category 4. Isabelle was a category 2. So when this thing was in Florida it was beast. By the time it got here it had disintegrated into an unorganized collection of storms...too much power to hold together I guess...if it wouldve stayed together when it hit us it would've probably topped Isabelle.

 

Any type of knolegable meteorologist would know that. That's why I get so pissed off when they make such a big deal out of it when It has crossed over 5 states before it reaches us. They know that there are people that just have no clue. So they continue to make a big deal about it so everyone keeps there eye on their station, runs to home depo to build an underground bunker so they can be safe from the 20mph winds and sprinkling rain.

hey the rain was kinda shitty though cause I couldn't drive cause the water was too deep.. but yah, it was no worse than the rain I am used to back in Oregon... I was expecting it to be an actual storm... well it was to some areas, like in FL, just not here where I'm at
