Because they generate a huge revenue and are only open at night whereas cursing doesn't do shit other then cause the religious zealots who visit the beach to turn their head and gasp in horror. WHO THE FUCK CARES WHY THEY DO IT and who seriously knows their reasoning. They want a family atmosphere and they feel that's how they'll get it? great! they make their own little law accordingly.

 

They are also loosing a lot of money too because the locals wont go down there anymore

 

No they aren't. Plenty of people come visit from p. town and norfolk and even from the beach..how about all the squids who got nothing better to do but crusie the strip for hours on end? They make PLENTY of money. And without locals that means more tourists which means more over priced hotels. The prices on drinks in the clubs skyrocked up by 2-3 dollars each. Paying for parking out the ass..the beach is set and i honestly doubt they care that the locals come or not..

 

this is true that they make the rules....but last time i checked the laws say by the people...for the people...and imposing all these rediculous rules against a portion of the population(a portion that by the way happen to live there year round....not there for a few months of the year)they scare off the only source of YEAR ROUND revenue....if they keep this up then once the beach off season happens not as many people will want to come down there to enjoy themselves for fear that they might be on the wrong end of a popo's shitfit about how the youth these days are disrespectful....and where does all this "revenue" they get from us go to?certainly not the maintaining of roads and highways....certainly not for creating a venue for us to gather peacefully....which we are given that right by the us constitution and federal law.....so pro-lifers can gather infront of an abortion clinic and shout obsenities and try to block people from entering but we are not allowed to gather in a out of the way area that isnt being used at night and meet? and dont say anything about that being a bad comparasion...its a good one because we are being forced onto the streets because the cops or places dont want us there....sometimes its because of a few idiots...but mostly because they treat us like we are lower than drug dealers and murders (which the cops should be chasing)...

 

We are not being forced onto the streets by cops it's by idiots who ruin any spot pr nice quiet gathering you might have for a short period of time. They don't want most of "you" there b/c of liability and alot of people are idiots that gather and meet up. They pick the area how they want and they make their damn laws. Seriously. I simply stated cursing is offensive which is why they banned it on the beach. SIMPLE AS THAT.

P.S. According to officer Ernest of the ocean front it's illeagal to curse anywhere in the city of VA beach. He also stated that that sure they know people will curse the matter is they don't want to hear it excessicvely during the day hours when families are down there. Also he said he'd be happy to write ya' a ticket to give you something to really bitch about.

 

Of course they arent losing money during TOURIST season. But the other 9 months out of the year they have been losing their asses the last few years
