fuck big al's anyways. the last time i went there i had just put my motor in. i needed them to weld on a muffler because the shit i had on was rice as shit. well i am sitting in the building and all i hear is someone revving the shit out of a car. i llok out the window and see that it was my car. i go out there and raise hell!!!!!!!!!!!!! and all the manager would say is " nah he wasn't really revving it, it just makes a lot of noise". i could have killed that little fuck... needless to say he tried kissing my ass after i almost killed him.
btw it is the one right at the corner of jefferson and main st. in newport news..... i will never go to another on again..

the motor was fresh not many miles at all.

Sorry guys, but I'm not very familiar with the previous pricing of Big Al's. How much of a difference did this change in management or whatever affect pricing?

I was considering Big Al's to make me a some custom turbo piping, but now I'm afraid. What are they trying to charge now?

Well let's say I want a custom v-band flange downpipe and 3" (preferrably a 3.15" if at all possible) full exhaust system (catless & i'll supply the muffler I wish to use) and i need the oxygen sensor bung in the downpipe for a mazda rx-7 turbo II. how much would this run normally? how much for just the downpipe too?

and this is geared toward the rest of drag: from your guys knowledge, what would this have normally ran in your opinion like half a year ago?

You sayin 200 for the whole thing or the down pipe?... I honestly don't know... I don't do to much with prices... I just do the work... I do know however that the only way i'd be able to install it catless would be to do it at home... N I don't know about that...

and the sad thing is.....there are a few that will fuck that up even. its one of the simplest jobs to do on a car (hence the reason most lube monkeys can do it) yet it is one of the most fucked up things i have seen sometimes. i can recall an instance where someone welded a muffler to the car.....car. not hanger. car.

you can run them.....without moving shit. if you are good. but i am not "the best exhaust tech ever" so i dont know that.....

exactly my point when i first 'attacked' him. i would even go so far as to say when someone claims they're the 'best' it's often a very good indication that they are most likely nowhere near it. that's why i can't stand when people try to blow themselves up like that.

i've worked with truly great techs and none of them ever thought they were the best. or if they did they kept it to themselves. they knew they were good, but not 'the best'. that's a grand fucking title right there.

btw fc735 where do you work? i used to work at lynnhaven lincoln-mercury. great place, let me tell you.
