Forgive my retardness, but whats the purpose of doing that to the swingarm?
For my case it's purely aesthetic, it's called bracing and it's done to add rigidity to a swingarm so that it won't flex under pressure (bracing stocks arms doesn't usually add rigidity).
As a comparison, a Harris race prepped (braced) swingarm can run more than $4000.
Some people like the braced/stamped look, I attached some race arms and a black 07 R1 arm that has been braced but not 'stamped'.
