There's a difference between real VW kids and real guys.

People just think they're ugly because they're different than the old shit. Same thing happened when the MKIV came out. Except the MKIV really is ugly where the MKV has some redeeming qualities.

And there's no denying that the MKV is a far superior platform when it comes to performance.

i as well think MKIV's are ugly as hell too. to be perfectly honest, my heart belongs in MKII's and MKIII's. the thing that really really earks me with MKV's and BMW's for that matter, is how the rear fender sits lower than the front, so it looks reverse raked all the time.

performance, they are all horrible performance platforms to start on, in comparison to many other cars

 

i wanna build one sooooo bad, but can never find a "project" shell or car anywhere
