The Vanos can be rebuilt on your dining room table for "cheap" if it fails. The solenoids are ~$200 a piece.
An OEM-replacement clutch kit is ~$300, and no more difficult to replace than any other RWD clutch.
My only concerns with owning one of those would be insurance and gas.

I kinda like the Matte grey/battleship look.

Imagine a garage with "storm trooper" rides, and something like that as the "lord". . .could be fun.
