That does seem like a great deal on the Ruckus, and as far as checking it out, just check for the same stuff as a car (oil leaks, smoking exhaust, weird noises, etc...) A key vital sign for a Ruckus though is the top speed, just that alone can give you huge insight into what condition the motor and other components of the Ruckus are in.

When I was searching for one, I look in Richmond, and other cities, places with large college campuses, or other places where a ruckus might be put to good use as a commuter. There have been quite a few for sale in Richmond lately. Also join totalruckus.com there is 1 or 2 for sale in VA/MA right now.

Sweet man, can't wait to see the Ruckus, should enter yours in the Motorcycle show class at the event, I am thinking about doing it myself.

Hopefully I can have my Ruckus 100% tuned and running by then, tuning this carb is turning out to be quite a feet of trial and error.

I've had mine pinned at 44-5 mph, tucked in though.

love it, rode it to and from work yesterday. Woke up and saw frost this morning and said fuck it, froze my ass off yesterday morning. Realized how beautiful it was outside at lunch, so I drove home and rode the ruck back to work. I'm debating going back out in a bit after traffic has died down.

I was pretty surprised on the way down independence I hit about 42 mph... mind you I'm a fatty (245ish).

 

I'm about 225. My commute takes me up VB Blvd from Witchduck up past Janaf and back everyday. Doing 40mph tops on VB Blvd might be a little sketchy...

I still really want one though.

I grew up buying/fixing/riding the shit out of vintage 70's European mopeds and have loved mopeds/scoots ever since.
