That's one reason. If you slam an S2000 to the point it's nearly on the ground, the tires will actually be resting on the fenders. They're not driveable that low. Not all cars are created equally.
Also, most (and I use that word loosely with today's crop of S2000 owners) S2000 owners bought their cars because they enjoy driving them. S2000s handle great and people don;t want to ruin that. VWs handle like shit so their's no harm in dumping them on the ground. VWs are all about visual impact, S2000s aren't.
