OP can flush his camera down the toilet. That would definitely improve his "photog".

 

Why not let your friend drive and you shoot it? It's JUST a civic. And don't go out spending a bunch of money on lenses, you haven't even got shutter speed and aperture down. And I'm hard pressed to believe you can tell the difference between half a stop.
