Wow.. I don't think you should rev it without V-TEC.. the ECU has maps for each (eco and V-TEC).. the ECU will change the map when you hit that set RPM but V-TEC isn't engaging.. I don't see a big problem now.. but it could lead to something.

Just something to think about

Sounds like you have a strong b16, take care of it She will last a long time, and have fun doing it

Keep up on maintenence and get your shit from Honda.. or find someone with a discount They know what to use for their motors.

Thanks man, i would expect a dealership knows about their cars! After they spent millions of dollars researching them

I'm not taking the time to read this thread, but here are my thoughts. You only have 600 dollars. That is not going to build you anything. That won't build you a QUALITY setup in either direction you go. If you want high 13s, take your 600 and spend it on Nitrous and a set of tires. CRXtacy his consistent 13.6-13.7 with a B16 CRX with a 50 shot I believe. You're not going to make the power to get where you want to be All Motor out of a B16 without spending way more than 600. You're not going to be able to build a QUALITY (a.k.a. not going to blow up) LS-VTEC setup for 600. And you're not going to find the parts needed for a boosted setup that cheap either. Hell, 600 wouldn't pay for anything but the tuning. This is coming from someone with a B16 Turbo setup. They run great, but like you've said, maintenece is a much. Not so much on the motor, but all the extra stress created by the extra power tends to wear things out on older cars, such as you've got.

Moral- Get nitrous and tires, that is the only thing you will be able to afford that will put you even close to where you want to be.

The Cliff notes of my thread

-I have 600 to spend as of when taxes come

-This is a project car and will be ongoing untill im satisfied.

-I'll end up investing 3k+ into this motor

This thread yields a lot of FAQs to those lacking in B Series technology. I wish those unexperienced in it would read it, and follow up!
