ok so basically you guys are saying that with the b16 or gsr tranny racing an LS tranny with the same power. when the b16 shifts the LS pulls away RIGHT?
so smarty what the hell happens when the LS shifts oh shit here comes that b16 tranny. oh by god now we shifted at the same time and he is pulling right the hell by me. (therefore losing speed as you say)

oh and i happen to have an LS tranny so im not just talking out of my ass either.
i have someone with way less horsepower than me catching me at the tops of our gears.
Yes i can beat him OFF THE LINE thru first and second but when he shifts to 3rd and im in second he starts to catch up. and from then on he is pulling on me "because he gets thru the gears QUICKER" and needs less horsepower to pull thru them.

Because, when you have a motor (such as a VTEC motor), with a broad powerband...you can afford the shorter gearing. Longer gears are generally best matched to a motor with a peaky powerband to keep you there longer. If you are making power everywhere, you don't need the longer gears and can better make use of the shorter gears to pick up speed much faster.

wow this guy is compleatly wrong.... a wide power band would like long gears ... a short power band AKA only in vtec would like a short gear to keep it in its power band..... and the Quote did funny I wanted the hole thing I was refering to what you quoted
