It is actually her husbands car, who is currently in Korea. Apparently she drove to PA to by it for him because he was unable to find any around here. All that really tells me, is that he is an idiot, he is going to have an emotional attachment to the car and not want to sell for less, and its probably going to rusted to shit underneath.

Yes, but apparently they have been offered upwards of 2400. I told her 1500 would be the max I would give her. She said she would call me back if something happened. I'm not holding my breathe.

I've owned a mk2 8v and I drive a 93 Integra and have worked on many VWs and Hondas hence the name, hondub. The golf was probably the least reliable car ever. It never started when it rained, ran like crap, I had to work on it to get to work everyday and then usually work on it to get home from work. I've had to leave it in random parking lots and call friends to come pick me up numerous times. My DA never leaves me stranded. The pgm-fi relay needs resoldered but if you hit it hard enough it starts haha. One of my good friends drives a 91 crx si with a zc swap and the only problems he has involve the wiring for the swap. Most of which we've cleared up. Please get a crx. I drove my golf because my DA was down for a while and i regret every penny that i had to put into that thing to keep it going.

being an ass hat i guess, i know you did ask opinions on either honda or vw. but i HAVE to ask, is there a reason nissan wasnt considdered? I do not joke when i say i think ive owned 40 some cars since i started driving, at least 10 of which were hondas. and as decent reliable as they are, i have honeslty found the b13 chassis to be one of the best bang for the buck all around. just had to say it

Why was Nissan not considered? Because I've owned a couple before, and don't really care for them all too much. The only way I would buy another Nissan would be to source a 240 w/LSD. I'm not willing to put that much money into buying this car, so that is why Nissan was not considered.

About the only other thing I am considering right now is possibly an 88-91 HB Si, or an older Jeep Wrangler (which is not easy to find in good condition for a cheap price).
