A 540 m sport, B5 S4, and c32 amg are not and never will be 10k cars. maybe a c230 w/sport package and a 6 speed would be fun, not much aftermarket support though. E39 530i with sport package is a great car as well, while it's not blazing fast its a great highway cruiser. 1.8 A4 as someone already suggested, better option than a Jetta GLI as its awd.

F-body..resale value has tanked on these
srt-4 though I'm not a fan...too much power for fwd
contour SVT- i know, i know its a contour...but theyre damn fun to drive around an auto-x course and can be had very cheap and are rare
Subaru legacy
G35 sedan- haven't checked prices lately but they go for less than the coupes and are lighter to boot

They certainly will, it just takes time. Remember how much these cost new, and how much depreciation has taken its toll already, granted that they will however depreciate slower now that they are 6-9 years old. I'm actually looking at an audi s4 right down the road where the dealership is asking 10k, looks clean, but ill have to look into the maintenance again. As far as the cars youve listed, ive ruled out the F-body only because of the backseat issue. Not a fan of the contour or legacy, but like the g35 quite a bit.
