pretty much the worse engine design by vw, I dont know... I cant tell you I know much about them, but when I bought the van and I didnt know the engine was bad. (bought it at an auction and all they guarantee is that it starts) so did some research and a lot of people put subaru's ej22 in it, I thought ej20t would be cooler, so we'll see if I can make it work.

Bobby let me know if something's going to happen, I'll bring some beer!!

Its aircooled so it if doesnt vent right it will run like shit and burn oil like there is no tomorrow. My dad has a 70 Ghia that I want to buy from him and it runs great. Anyway, I had a hell of a time out there. How did Bobby run? Did you guys get it on tape? Merf I owned you and I almost owned Bandit. I was less than 2 seconds off Brian. Cant wait for my 3rd meet.

Yeah I did pretty good. I had a great time. Thanks for the compliments. The Z is running better than ever. Now I just need some suspension and some hoosiers for our "TEAM".

I can't begin to describe how good it felt to be out there today. I really enjoyed running the old car. That is the first time I have run that car in at least 7 or 8 years... In fact I think it is about the 3rd time I have even driven it anywhere (including driving it on the street) in the last 5 or so years. I just found so many things on it that need attention. I am going to do some of them and hopefully bring it out some more.

I had an interesting feeling driving today that I am not sure I have ever experienced before. I am not sure... but I might have been somewhat intimidated by the car today. I have driven some damned fast cars over the years, and I have probably 200 first place trophies in that car, but I drove it very timidly... I am not sure why.... I have been trying to figure it out, but the only thing I can think of is that that I was somewhat intimidated by the car. The Shelby is a very difficult car to drive well. I have never had anyone else drive it and beat me just because I used to be so in tune with every detail of the car. I have spent all these years driving car that were easier to drive and getting back into everything that car needed must have been a challenge. I have to drive it a few more times to find out for sure....
