The weights are nearly identicle. I basically see it as a slight advantage to the Silvia in an 1/8th mile race, with the ITR winning in a 1/4m race. This is concerning the red top silvia motor with 205Hp and 203tq.
The ITR doesnt have identical HP as the silvia, not to mention the silvia has a wider power/torque band. The number show that the silvia will pull on the itr low end and top end, itr is outhorsed and out torqued, numbers dont lie!! But get a bad driver in their and you might as well throw the numbers out the window, cause some ppl cant drive for shit.

ITR vs. Silvia on a road track. Well honestly the silvia has the upper advantage. RWD vs. FWD. We all know fwd suffer from understeer, some ppl say the ITR is more "neutral" but then again its FWD(understeer), sure its more stable then a rwd. A comparasion that close depends all on the driver, both are good track cars. Btw, your opinions dont count as facts

And looking at those videos, the times for the silvia, its a s14!!, are slower then what they should be, and that being 400m shouldnt make that much of a difference. The difference between 400 meters and 1/4 mile is like, what 10ft?

The JDM ITR motor and red top silvia motor are different by 5 HP. I wouldnt call that "outhorsed". Pull on the top end?! Maybe you didnt see the video. Go watch again.

On a road course, FWD vs RWD matters much less than in drag racing. Yes, a FWD car will normally understeer horribly, but the honda engineers did a good job by adding a stock LSD and making the rear very stiff, its so easy to make the ITR oversteer on a road course by just lifting the throttle mid turn if you wanted to.

Ill enter some quotes here....from the USTCC.
1st. Gary Hutto BMW (RWD)
2nd. Gary Sheehan WRX (AWD)
3rd. Arsham Honda ITR ( FWD)

if it doesnt matter that much...then why is fwd 150 points behind the leaders?

i dont see any fast fwd in JGTC either...

Well if AWD and turbo is so great, why is a WRX behind a BMW?Lets take a look at some other race series then. In the Speed Touring Car Championships, between 1997 and 2001 ITR's have won 4 out of 5 championships. In 1998 they went 1 and 2. The year they didnt win the championship, they lost by 3 points but still went 2 and 3. Thats against many a RWD car such as BMW 328's with M3 engines. And, the chassis those guys are running in the USTCC is FAR older than either the WRX or BMW designs. Yes, thats a 9 year old chassis design with a VTEC system designed in 1989. That integra is 150 behind the leaders because of an older chassis and engine, not because of FWD. Of course the FWD doesnt help, but it can be overcome. If this was some sort of drag racing comparison with the WRX and BMW's, the ITR would be much much behind, hence my statement that FWD matters less in road racing.

i never mentioned that the wrx was superior in anyway. HELL, the WRX was never MENT TO COMPETE IN A ROAD RACE. in my defense...imll use the transative property and look like a cheap shot.

The reason why u think Honda is behind the leaders is because its a 9yr old chasis with a 14 yrd engine right?. and yes i agree, it is one of the contributing factors, though i believe the reason why they are even doing that Well and staying in 3rd place...is because that 9 year old chassis has had 9yrs of chassis and suspension tuning experience, as well as the engine. 14 yrs of aftermarket tuning experience is what keeps the Honda ITR among the top 3 competitiors.

as far as these races have gone...the fwd have been out classed by the rwd and awd setups (except for the audi). with the introduction of the dc5 chassis and the kseries engine ( both brand spanking new). i still dont see it competing with the rwd and awd layouts.

Area under the curve is what matters. Sure horsepower only differs by 5-10, but how bout that torque curve?

I can't see why you'd still argue this, all the numbers on these cars point to the silvia winning hands down, the video means nothing. Video just shows that it actually does take skill to drag race, and even though you may own a fast car, doesn't mean it's fast while you're driving it.

this is why the type r has done so well. that and the fact it is indeed a good platform. but the ability to pull things off the shelf to tune isn't all that bad. but using itr in the speed touring car championships is kinda too easy. it would be like a g20 guy saying, well the primera kicked ass for 5 years in the btcc. the lack of an aftermarket, or abundance of one has very little to do with the quality of the engine, but moreso the demand for products. a better example in the speed touring car championships would be real time's rsx. it did nothing, because it has such a small aftermarket.
anyways, the silvia (s13) at least, should make less power to the wheels than an itr stock for stock, just because of rwd and the weight of its running gear, but it doesnt make the silvia less potent.
