Supra 2jz-gte...little different. Lower compression, oil squirters, better internals. Swapping the bottom end is the way to go.
Yeah... but realistically if your pushing less than 500 the stock bottom end is fine. Past that your going to want some GTE or at least upgraded internals.

I seem to remember most people were sticking to around 350 rwhp on the stock block for reliability.

Yeah.. Thats a good number for alot of the stock parts, but people have started pushing it more and more. I mean the SRT race car was pushing 10's with the stock rear end... Everyone use to upgrade to the GS or Supra rear end because they thought it would blow.
