New clutch and oil change today. First time installing a clutch. Any pointers?

 

Follow the instructions.

 

make sure everything is clean. and you put everthing in the right order.. and the bolts break easy..


and loseing the bolts evenly

 

I got everything back together. Only snag was the cable pull arm not being set right and the lever being dead. When I pulled the old plates out, the last friction plate (closest to the engine) was broken. Thankfully it was still in the clutch basket and not dropped down into the tranny itself. I'll post pics later.

 

Oh and I found this when I was pulling out the old friction plates...



And here's the new kit and springs soaking in some Amsoil.

 

So I was riding yesterday afternoon and I went to power it up in second and felt something hit my left foot. When I looked down, I realized that my left frame slider had committed suicide and decided to jump because life just wasn't worth it anymore for it.

Just wear and tear I'm guessing? The guy I bought it from liked to clutch up wheelies and stuff.

 

was your clutch doing something weird that prompted u to change it, or u just changed it for the sake of it and found this neat surprise?
