and on another side note i saw someone asked earlier on if someone has played From Russia With Love...i got the game and i must say im impressed...the graphics are awesome and it stays true to the 60's look and feel...it truly a game worthy of Sean Connery(who came back to supply the voice acting for bond) and the James Bond franchise

PS3 risks making itself the oddball. Both the PS2 and Xbox lost money per system when they released, and Nintendo cutting Gamecube prices only made it worse for them because they had to drop system prices quicker than anticipated. That's why MS dropped the hard drive as a vital component of the 360 and is selling a core system.
Nintendo has already stated they're trying to make an affordable system.
That leaves Sony as the only competitor going for $500-$600. Say what you want, that kind of priced system WILL NOT sell like hotcakes.
BTW, Final Fantasy VII is NOT being remade. The Tech Demo is only to demonstrate the power of the PS3.

this is true but at this point the PS3 is still pretty much speculation...sony is being pretty tightlipped about alot of things but i dont think sony will go through with the 500 price....it wont sell at that...
i heard a rumor that the Xbox 360 is not backwards compatible with the xbox because they went to a different company for the graphics engine

It is not backwards compatible without the hard drive. It IS backwards compatible for most popular games with the hard drive, and they will be updating it with Live to make more compatible.
And about Sony and ludicrous pricing, if anyone remembers the first PS was between $400-$500. That wouldn't be a stretch for them.

So, who wants to buy an Xbox 360? We got 4 of them in at target. They were all bought by employees and I got one of them. I wasn't even planning on buying one, but figured I could probably make a little profit off of it. PM me inquiries. Buyer pays all shipping costs from Pensacola, FL.
