overkill check out v8sho.com the engine is a PITA to work on. you CANT by them from ford anymore (they WERE $12,000) and most parts for the 96-99 SHO discontinued and cost arm and leg...oh yea no aftermarket either lol

But other then that.... AWESOME CAR! 15-18mpg city 28-31mpg hwy. And tons of pwr!.....

but I miss my REALLY 5.8L V8 I had in my bronco....

 

Yea, I could imagine something like that being expensive..its totally hightech. Id love a 5.8 in my car as well..

 

I don't know if I'd say tons of power. They came with 240-250hp, right? That's about as much as a v6 accord these days.

 

ive always thought they were pretty cool cause its a yamaha v8 in a taurus. pretty unique if you ask me.

Keeps me happy and alot faster then I thought they were. But yea there are comparable smaller displacement engines....

But for a family car you cant beat this. Husband gets the car that he can drive fast and wife gets a nice comfy ride

 

Id even be down to go to Va beach at this point, Im fuckin bored as hell and willing to meet some new car people, anyone wanna clue me in on a spot or something?

 

I've heard the v8 is notorious for eating up cams or something like that because ford designed most of the motor. The v6 SHO motor is badass and completely designed by yamaha. I think I heard the motor was good to 8500+rpms but the accessories would burn up if they weren't underdriven. Either way those cars have shitty transmissions.
