Should I purchase a 350z or a STI?
350z will lower my insurance and STI will raise it.
13.7-14.0 isn't that slow? IMO
I don't drive my friends around, I have always had a 4 door, but never let people in the back seat... weird
I always drive my girl around
I have no clue what BOOC is, but if it means I can afford both, then I'm definatley not.
Haha
Thanks for the replies so far guys, I'll be making my purchase on Sat. looking for the right deal currently, I think whichever car I find it for first, i'll get it.
Can anyone provide more insight with owner experience?

i wouldn't say thats slow... for stock anyways. i go to the track with 3 buddies.
'96 Mustang GT. Every bolt on imaginable and a tune. 14.31
'07 Corvette. Bone Stock. 12.56
'03 350Z. Bone Stock. 13.89 (mine)
'06 350Z. Test Pipes, Y-Pipe. 13.59
But now i have test pipes, ground kit, new rubber (not potenza's). 13.62
The main diff. is how you like to drive. All of those cars are RWD for a reason. some people feel that everything else is "wrong wheel drive" its hard to have a lot of drifting fun and what not with the STI without the rain, snow, or dirt. I mean you can launch those sti's like crazy off the line but you could also buy a Z for $18K Get a Stillen Stage 1 Supercharger with the warranty (3yr/36k) and it safely adds about 85-100 HP depending on the bolt ons you have; and more importantly beat an sti.
So thats 3500 for the SC
300-800 For the hood so the SC will fit
**** not sure how much the warranty is
300-500 Labor and tune
Total $23K
however you could also get the sti for about $22K and throw some money into that as well to push that into the upper 300 HP range. but you would total around $26-28K
i kinda rambled... my bad. let me know if you need to know anything else about the Z..
Actually the Stillen SC only adds about 30 hp for Stage 1, about 50 for stage 2. It isn't a great power adder. Vortech would be the way to go and they also offer the warranty now.
I own a 06 STI which basically has the same motor as the 04-05. I was seriously looking to sell it to get a Z, but when I went to go test drive them today, I was not impressed with the power at all...It lacked a lot of torque. After driving the Z, it made me think why I ever considered selling my STI for a Z. Granted, the Z definitely nice looking, but the STI with right sutble modes look just as good, if not...better....
STI ftw!
STI ftw!
Buy a 350Z. I own a 350Z and I had considered buying an STi...until I saw how much my insurance premium was going to go up!
The Z may be marginally slower, but, imo for the price difference (the 350Z being cheaper), the Z looks and sounds ALOT better.
P.S. If you're really interested in a 350z, I'll have mine up for sale on the f/s forums as soon asI get taken off of trial member status.

pimpin-tl's got a good point, I was referring to my Z, which is an '06 model. The '07's are quicker because they have a twin-intake system and standard traction control, which, I'm sure greatly helped the acceleration.
