You didn't answer my question. Do the G5 and Cobalt share body styles, or do they not? That's all I'm asking.

Whoa, an Astra sedan developed specifically for central and eastern European markets in late 2007. Fascinating. I stand corrected. And it appears to be using the Delta now.

Regardless, that has nothing do to with my original statement.

EDIT: Looking at it again, it doesn't look like it shares a single body panel except the front doors. Maybe the roof, but I can't tell. Everything else is different.

You stand corrected on all accounts, he has made it clear several times that a Pontiac is just an upgraded Chevy, and therefore this is why he believes that all Pontiacs share Chevy engines and body panels. When this is clearly not the case, the G5/Cobalt are not Chevy products in the first place they were Opel and Holden variants that were adopted by the Chevy and Pontiac divisions. In this case the G5/Cobalt are a downgraded versions of the Opel and Holden divisions Astra Sedan. When taken into context he clearly pointed out that Chevy is the entry level, Pontiac is the mid level, and Cadillac is the top level division, that the lowest division provides the product and those above just “upgrade” it to fit their level of hierarchy. That is incorrect, and only fits the criteria with one vehicle in this case of Pontiac adopting a direct Chevy product and “upgrading” it to its level.

That whole thing was just a giant train wreck. You didn't address any of my points whatsoever and danced around trying to put together a long-winded response while contradicting so many statements you've made in this thread already it makes my head spin.

Breaking everything down in that jumbled mess would just have me repeating myself, so I won't even bother. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

That makes sense. And I agree. But I never said that it was a Chevy design. I said it was a GM product.

another example of GM divisions sharing platforms/cars is the oldsmobile alero. it was marketed outside of the US as a chevy and simply rebadged. they were so lazy about it they left the olds symbol on the steering wheel.

Back to the topic... Holden Ute.. pretty cool. I was wondering when they would bring something like that over here. Australia has a ton of "Ute's"

I tried to follow what you guys were arguing about but it has become so much he said she said... Back to the point at hand, Pontiac is not a GM product, but a GM company and brand. They belong to GM as much as Gillette belongs to P&G...

Where did you get your bsbm from bigbake?
