I have seen these before, and Im not exactly sure they actually serve a purpose. sure what you say sounds correct but if you think about it, that would create more turbulence than having no holes where the air would have nowhere to flow up therefore continue to flow under the bumper and out the back. I would check with someone trustworthy, maybe a college professor instead of listening to the people that are selling you this product before you believe this helps in the aerodynamics of the car, because my mechanical engineer wannabe-self doesnt think so.
oh and back to the topic of the altima... sorry not my taste... but if you like it, thats whats important!
