Thank you for commenting on this. I for one give the car generally at least 15 minutes minimum to cool down between runs if possible, and I like to pop the hood while doing it to help speed up the process in case I get antsy and want to run again. It's amazing how many people let their car just sit there and idle while in the staging lanes sitting there for 15 minutes at a dead stop as well. But I am glad someone noticed that.

I dont care if it is 1/8th, I'll be happy to have a track 15 minutes away as opposed to an hour. It'd be something else to do on any given weekend.

cuz it wouldn't matter. AC compressor shuts off at WOT on wrx's. but you knew that already and thats why you raced with a/c.

if you were to let your car cool, wouldnt you want to do it for more than a few minutes? i know for a fact the engine gets hotter when shut off, just dont know for how long

i dunno...some people just get way too into the whole racing thing. i go as many times as possible....the car has a cooling system on it for a reason, IMO.

now if i was running a carb'd drag car....then that is a different story. hot fuel is not a good thing to have in a carb bowl......

but on a street car, i run it as it is. you would gain what, possibly a tenth? if that? now icing the IC is another story....

Thats another thing that you shouldn't do. Dont mean to sound like the harda$$ here, but when the AC is on, the condensor drips water constantly. Where does that water go? Onto the track of course. Thus, causing even more traction problems.

Another thing i never understood, the FWD cars will back all the way into the burnout box, not even get the front tires wet and then do a burnout. All they accomplish is dragging water out of the burnout box with there back tires. Who knows!

I try to let the car cool for a good 35-45 minutes between rounds. I'm personally satisfied if I only make 3 or 4 passes the whole night. I'd rather make the best passes than beat the shit out of the car all night long. Also, if you make any adjustment to anything on the car, Ice the intake or intercooler etc., the time flies by anyways.

Like I said, i'm not a hard ass, but racing is something I take seriously and it can be aggrivating to go to NB and watch the newbies do all kind of stupid things. But hey, everyone has to learn somehow.

its actually the evaporator that leaks the water....but whos checking that?

sorry....i had to.

i aint a hardass either, but i guess some people are different in their racing then others. when i brought the wagon out, all but the last two times i drove the car there, and drove it home. yeah...i ran the ever loving shit out of it....and blew the tranny out doing that too. oh well...so is racing!

but i felt good going home with about 15 white timeslips

and as for adjustments, that is one thing i loved about the management i was running....made tweaks while i was in line...didnt have to pop the hood unless i wanted to change max boost.
except for that last yellow one i got....where i got beat by an accord! oh the humanities! 7.8 second 60' times do suck.....
