Cycle whore thread
+ 1 on the fulmer crap... There's a reason they don't sell em online lol.
OK bike guru's... I need some help again.
Yesterday, I took of my bikes brake light/turn signal assembly and replaced it with an integrated system that had a license plate light built into it, meaning the fender eliminator kit installed by previous owner could now be removed. The kit I got was plug and play, no extra wires needed, problem is...the eliminator kit had an extra light...and that was spliced into the system and now that I've removed the complete circuit of the license plate light, the brake light/turn signals won't turn on anymore.
In short: How does one go about removing a spliced wire?
(I have pics on my phone if needed)
Thanks guys

is it an led setup or conventional bulbs? the extra light might be necessary in order to put enough resistance on the circuit to make the leds work properly.

do you have any pics or diagrams or links or anything to help me out? i'm not familiar with the duke.
The shoei rf-1100 is comfortable as hell, hardly feels like you're wearing anything.. Has enough vents to keep your head cool.. The ONLY thing is I think it's noisier than the Icon I had. With all the vents closed it's not too bad (understandable). In a tuck, I can't get a damn whistle to go away. Vents open, closed, half, head cocked to the side, visor locked, unlocked, whatever, there's always a slight whistle.
Other than that.. I love it.. and will probably stick with Shoei.
fuck I'm going to miss my bike...

The kit I bought is plug and play and just plugs directly into the existing brake light harness, needing no extra wires for the tail light. The fender eliminator previous owner put on has a conventional bulb light with one wire coming from the right side of the bike, spliced from a harness there. As soon as I pulled that light bulb set up and taped of the spliced wire the back side wouldn't turn on anymore. Headlights and crap work fine. Just the rear end isn't turning on. Here's some pics...

Yes it works. But theres no need to put it back there, its a random bulb that doesnt need to be there. The integrated set has leds on the bottom half of the deal, so no extra wires. I just to figure out a way to "unsplice" it and remove that wire.
I had the EXO-700 and reccomend it to anyone on a budget. However, I've recently purchased an RF-1100 and been wearing it for about a month and holy fuck. Incredible. Super lightweight, vents like crazy, and fits my head perfectly. The EXO seemed to be a bit too round which left me with an XL, and not a L. The Shoei seems to be more oval and has been snug as a bug in a L. The price difference is worth if it you have the money to spend. If not, I reccomend the EXO.
P. S. Mine has no whistle, Paul should call Shoei and figure out what's up.
