I dont see why people make a big fucking deal about running at the track. for starters racing from a roll is bullshit you may as well weigh both cars and put em on a dyno and compare numbers because you just eliminated any skill from the race. Secondly the surface is typicaly optimized for traction & controll at the track. not littered with gravel and pothholes, conditions great for say flipping a car (bells) but not for racing. then theres the fair start. the tree does not lie. why not use it? what i want to know is how a car is setup for racing on the street but isint for the track? 2 "street cars" running on a track are going to perform the same as they would on the street only difference i see here is its legal, safer, and leaves no question if the start was fair.

The lack of fairness is what makes it fun. Who got the start. Who got a bad flag. Who couldn't get traction because of rocks. Its like the difference between a rally and circuit race. Solberg should have won Rally Japan, but some other car pulled in a large rock in the middle of the road and he hit it. Unavoidable. Shit happens. If it rains, the rally goes on. If it snows, the rally goes on. None of this perfect condition bullshit. That's how the street is. That's my take anyways. I find drag racing at the track the most boring thing ever. The street is moderately more entertaining.
