I have zero trouble tuning an AEM. If you know what you are doing it isnt hard. The problem arises when people buy stuff without knowing anything themselves and then insist on paying others to do stuff for them. To be that is just a recipe for disaster.

Those willing to invest time into learning how to tune a standalone will most definately reap the rewards. There are so many problems that normal ECU's have when trying to mod your car, that I can simply press a few keys and make go away with my AEM.

I will also say that a true standalone is cheaper than going the normal route. The amount of crap that you have to buy to circumnavigate the issues that a full standalone directly solves is insane. DSMlink sold, Eprom ECU sold, Profec B sold, MAFt sold, hobbs switch sold, 2g MAS sold, and that is only the beginning of it. In the end you will wind up with a system that doesnt dick around by skewing the problem in order to allow you to get by, instead you can directly correct the issues.

Without a doubt, for someone who knows what they are doing this is very much the truth. The only reason I need to hook up AEM is to simply play around or try to implement that week's latest new idea I came up with.

exactly....after about an hour and a half on the dyno(Mustang dyno..partial throttle tuning )and a test drive on the street,i never touched my AEM system for two years, other than to play with the launch limiter.

Its been a while since I talked to you. How have you been doing?

I'll have to come up there one weekend and hang out, after all I still have some learning to do on the ems myself, maybe you can help.

So far I've been doing fine. I have been working in Baltimore for a few months with a fiber optics company and they just relocated all of their equipment down to Bburg, so now Im back living here. I'm still getting settled and all, so it still isn't quite the same, but it will get there.

The car is doing great, been running for a bout 4 weeks now. I still have a good amount of major modding that is about to take place, but for the time being the car is running great, enough to break the tires loose in 1st.
