Cycle whore thread
So all you guys on sport bikes, how do you guys handle all the road salt/sand that's in pretty much every turn here in Virginia Beach. On my dual-sport I was fine, but being as how I'm about go get a sport bike, wondering how much the dynamics change. It seems like as soon as your rear tire catches that sand, it'd sweep right out from under you. Do you just take the turns tight inside since most of the sand is outside?
Which local shop would you VB guys vouch for? I've called around and Cycle World and Precision are pretty close. I'd rather give the work to Precision because I like private shops better.
Any insight?
Looking to get oil change, tune up, all new fluids, possible valve check, tire swap, etc.

for there.I'll respond later to your sand question.
So I went home on my lunch break to get the bike and get some seat time since it was so warm. Put the key in, pushed the button.....fail...nothing.
I just rode it 2 1/2 weeks ago, but it's been sitting ever since. Are batteries supposed to die that fast?
And is it likely I can just charge the battery and it'll be good? I'm pretty sure it's the original battery, so it's about 6 years and/or 12k miles old.

So.. One of my Firefighters laid his 2008 R1 down infront of the firestation....
Broke his left ankle and broke the left side handle portion of the handle bar off and scrapped up the fairings pretty bad...

I hope he wasn't showing off, but with the roads the way they are I wouldn't be surprised if he slipped on the sand from all the snow crap..

I almost lost mine a couple months ago, simply turning at a stop light. Those ct2 or 2cts or whatever are great when they get hot, not so much when they aren't warm yet and its 45 degrees
